Mozilla Weave, the alternative to Google Browser Sync for firefox 3

In my previous post, I’ve wrote that the Google Browser Sync for Firefox 3 has been discontinued. It is very powerful tool for syncing the browser settings across multiple computers.

The best alternative is Mozilla Weave ( from the makers of Firefox itself ), add-on  for Firefox 3 which can be signed up at services.mozilla.com and downloaded from latest-weave.xpi. This early prototype is accepting users now without any private invitation. Signup was closed for last few days because of the number of new users.

Unlike some extensions like Foxmarks which allow you to sync only your bookmarks across different computers easily; Weave can sync all of your bookmarks, history, cookies, saved form data, and now even passwords.

  2. I could really do with something that synchronises add-ons.

  3. Weave is not even Beta release. When they say “use at your own risk” think about this before adding ALL your passwords.
