Rapidshare.com removes Captcha for free users!

The last time, I posted about Rapidshare.com was about it’s new easier Captcha (Rapidshare’s New Human Readable CAPTCHA) for free users from its Captcha with cats and dogs. Now, they have completely canceled the Captcha for free users.

Now, free-users can now upload and download bigger files (up to 200 megabytes). For avoiding bots, they have limited the maximum download speed for free-users to 500 kbps, which isn’t bad.

If you are looking for a download manager for files from Rapidshare and other one click hosting web sites, use RapGet ( just 200kb and very effective). Though Rapidshare recommends using Rapidshare Manager, I haven’t had much success.

Premium users can only download a maximum of 50 gigabytes per day and the left over is roll over for next day. Does any premium user use it?

According to Alexa, Rapidshare.com is the 12th most visited web site in the world, which implies a lot new mp3s, movies, software’s legal and illegal are being uploaded and downloaded. Rapidshare has evolved into a file sharing monster like the torrents and P2P systems.
