Carbonite.com review and Manage to backup all files

For all who purchased Carbonite subscription from my earlier post, Carbonite.com offer plus extra coupon code for 2 yrs – $45 or $30, there are few important things about the service to be pointed out. I’ve used the Mozy trial, it’s interface is very ordinary which backups everything in the selected folder, Where as Carbonite has some unique and easy to use features. You can find the backup status of each file and folder by looking at

  • A green dot on a file means the file is backed up.
  • A yellow dot means the file is pending backup.
  • No dot means the file is not selected for backup.

  • A green dot on a folder means 100% of the folder’s contents are backed up.
  • A "green donut ( middle ) means that some of the folder’s files or sub-folders are not selected for backup, but all other files within the folder are backed up.
  • A yellow dot on a folder means that it contains files or subfolders that are pending backup.
  • A folder with no dot is either empty or not selected for backup.

Carbonite, by default excludes following folders from backups:

This is helpful sometimes, because you don’t want to backup all your download video Carbonite select files. So, you can manually check and select only some of the files you want to backup.
