At Google IO 2011, Rovio released Angry Birds online version as a Google Chrome extension that can be played in most web browsers – Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari. Just make sure you’re using the latest versions. The game plays at a full 60 frames per second – more than sufficient for the high-res experience that is Angry Birds. Very soon, it’ll use Chrome WebGL with local storage that lets you play Angry Birds online or offline in your Chrome browser.

Bonus!! Rovio is offering special levels for Google Chrome including “chrome bombs” and clouds shaped like the logo. The game is available now with special add-ons available over the next few days including the Mighty Eagle using Chrome’s payment system.
